What is Pledging?
Pledging to support the ministry of our congregation is a spiritual statement about your values, your priorities, and your vision for our community and world. Your pledges enable us to plan for the coming congregational year (July 1, 2026 thru June 30,2027). Pledges cover around 88% of our annual operating budget and make it possible to have this beloved community in our lives.
What Does My Financial Pledge Support?
With your FY27 pledge, we will:

- Design and Build a Labyrinth
- Expand Still Water Summer Camp
- Upgrade Bathroom Fixtures
- Implement Step-by-Step Increases to Staffing Levels
- Engage in LGBTQ+ Welcoming Congregation Renewal Process
- Maintain and Support our Growing Community
What Amount Do I Pledge?
All of us have our own unique circumstances to consider in making our financial commitment to UUSD. Our pledge brochure and its generosity guide at Generosity Guide are tools to help you determine what your support might be.
How Do I Pledge?
You can submit your completed pledge in several ways. Pledges can be made by individuals or joint households.
- Complete an online form at FY27 Pledge Form
- Print and complete a paper form at the bottom of the Generosity Guide at Paper Pledge Form and mail it to UUSD, marking the envelope Attn: Treasurer.
How Do I Contribute Toward my Pledge?
After July 1, 2026, you can contribute by check or online at Donate on our website. Offering plate cash is non-identifiable and not applied to a pledge.
Checks can be personal or 3rd-party as with a retirement distribution. Make out the check to UUSD or Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware and include “Pledge” as memo. You can drop a check in the offering basket on Sundays or deliver/mail to the church with “Attention: Treasurer.” If you are contributing with a 3-party check from a brokerage/retirement firm, for example, make sure the check is made out to UUSD with your name in the memo line. All checks by those with a current pledge are applied to the pledge unless specified otherwise, e.g., Share the Plate.
Online contributions at Donate can be one-time or recurring. See the FAQs at the bottom of the Donate page. Be sure to select Pledge as the Fund when making an online contribution.
