Memoir Writers Affinity Group
First Saturday of Each Month 10-11:45 a.m.
UUSD’s Large FE Room or at a Member’s Home

Next Saturday Sessions: September 12 and October 3.

All are welcome to participate regularly or intermittently as you are available.

As we choose to share memoir life stories, we develop personal and spiritual growth in a creative place with a sense of belonging. Participating monthly aids group camaraderie and writing continuity.

Leider, in The Power of Purpose: Creating Meaning in Your Life and Work, describes three hungers: 1) to have our lives recognized as worthwhile; 2) to be cared about and have intimacy and community; and 3) for ourselves to grow, understand our uniqueness, and effectively contribute our gifts.

Our lives can be powerfully transformed by Memoir Writing. DeSalvo states in Writing as a Way of Healing, “Memoir writing enables us to accomplish a shift in our perspective which can help us heal.” We discover insights, opening vistas to self-understanding and acceptance so we can make changes.
