Sunday, July 26, 10 a.m., “When Life Doesn’t ‘Add Up’ Like We Want It To,” Bruce DePuyt, UUSD member and retired broadcast journalist: Life is filled with paradox. Conundrums abound. Sometimes it seems like everywhere you turn, things fail to meet our expectations for how they should be. Developing a personal playbook for handling the curveballs that inevitably come our way is a big part of life’s journey.

Bruce DePuyt is a UUSD member, retired journalist, and political analyst, a recipient of the James F. Jenkins Pillar of Faith Award from the Howard University School of Divinity and the United Church of Christ, and a recipient of a Governor’s Citation for decades of civic-minded journalism from Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan. A graduate of the University of Maryland, Bruce is a former member of the SAG-AFTRA Mid-Atlantic executive board, a former board member at All Souls Church in Washington, D.C, and a former board member at Unity Christ Church in Gaithersburg, Md.
