Community Sunday
August 30, 2026
The Worship Committee is excited to present Community Sunday on August 30, 2026. That Sunday will consist of a 20-minute service followed by several 40-minute activities. Each participant will Community Sunday August 30, 2026 will choose the activity that interests them the most and the space can accommodate.
The purpose of Community Sunday is to:
1) facilitate collective conversation, allowing even a big, serious topic to be handled in a small, manageable chunk;
2) meet new people and create connections; and,
3) bring multiple generations together for fun and fellowship.
Get creative! We hope that many of you will develop an activity that will be engaging and interesting. Some examples include a meditative experience, music, an art project, dance, spiritual practice, a social justice action, discussions of important topics, or simple crafts. If you have a special skill or interest that you would like to share with the congregation, please email Don Peterson by June 30, 2026. Include a description of the activity, the number of people you think you can accommodate, and the space at UUSD you would like to use. Given the limited space we
have, we may need to make some changes to accommodate everyone’s needs, so please include your first and second choices for space.
